Description

Famara beach is located on the North-east coast of Lanzarote. This beach is approximately 5km long and is a main attraction to surf schools. World surfing championships are held here every year in October due to the strong winds and waves that hit this side of the island. It is dangerous for swimming in however if you are keen on water sports or would simply like to paddle in the water or jump of the crashing waves then famara is a great day out. Many international surfers come to Famara to experience what it has to offer. There is a small village in Famara that has restaurants, bars and shops so nothing is too far away.
