Description

The Lanzarote tourist- and handicraft market (Mercado Turístico y Artesanal de Arrecife) that was launched back in April 2010 has moved location from the Parque Temático on the outskirts of the capital into the city centre.

The stalls are now situated in the streets from Calle Real to the Plaza de Las Palmas and the San Ginés church. Whilst I liked the relaxed open air venue on the sea front by the Cabildo, there is a different atmosphere walking the streets and browsing the stalls in the bustling centre of Arrecife. The stalls selling arts and crafts as well as food and drink and much more besides. There's usually plenty of entertainment on offer too in the form of local folkore groups.

The market opens every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
